readiness is a decision
safety versus support

The Seventh Gate album release is coming up sooner than I can believe on March 3rd, 2026. It seems like just yesterday we gathered in the park to flower gaze to ‘Lisianthuses’.
If you plan to listen to ‘the seventh gate’ when it releases, it would mean so much to me if you took a moment to click twice and presave/preorder the album. To be honest, I am not sure how it works, but I am told by those that do know it helps more people who are interested in this work find me, which is my biggest dream! <3

on readiness and safety
it can be tempting to wait until we feel ‘ready’ or ‘safe enough’ to step into the lives we want to lead. We settle for ‘almost the real thing’ as a placeholder for following the big dreams. we go so far as to label these desires as delusion, as a little protective self-depricating reminder- keeping our passion ‘reasonable’ and ‘realistic’.
we bargain with our magic. “i’ll take this action once that happens” “dont want to peak too soon” “what if…” etc. how do we know when it is time to step boldly?
We choose to save money instead of investing in experiences that will expand our worldview. We decide to avoid the person who makes us uncomfortable instead of getting curious why. We lie to eachother to keep things “easy”, even though it disturbs our inner peace.
how do we know we are ready to leap?…
we can’t know.
as the minutes pass in linear time, it seems like we are moving either further away from or closer to the dreams as we wait for this invisible “arrival” at readiness.
but time does not work this way, despite our sense of it.
the most recent science says: time folds in on itself. Every potential outcome, including our wildest dreams and our biggest heartbreaks, all exist in reality right now simultaneously.
the key to being able to step into this lies in the nervous system’s perceived sense of safety - a web of intricate patterns that have been formed since our birth, teaching our brains “the way it is”, cultivating our reality. These patterns are often coded in us unconsiously. We cannot even see how we are limiting our potential.
rewriting our body’s code requires acknowledging that we will likely never feel safe or ready enough as we take the leaps that will truly expand us into our best selves. It will always feel like terror until our system acclimates to the change. and then we will need to repeat that cycle. over and over until it becomes a new normal.
stepping into the dream requires being incredibly uncomfortable. being willing to walk into a dark abyss of the unknown shaking and small and sad, on nothing but trust in the deeper pull towards what we are meant to create in this world.
It becomes easier to accept this when we recognize that perceived safety, as we usually intend the word, doesn’t truly exist.
oops. I said it. Perceived safety is the illusion of control. full stop. this is because perceived safety is rooted in a fundamental belief that external circumstances define our experience. (I could, and maybe will write a whole different post about this another time).
But for now, the important message is:
if we expect to feel safety as we dream, we will wait to feel ready forever. So what are we waiting for?
it is time to dream of systems of government that serve our needs. time to dream we do have agency when our neighbors are being ripped from their homes. time to dream of a health care system that supports health for all bodies. time to dream of engaging with community in nourishing meaningful ways.
time to dream BIG and create new systems from the dark void of nothingness that is the divine feminine. systems we could never think of in this current limited, patterned state from the past.
It feels scary to acknowledge that we must leap into this without the feeling of safety- but its important to note that even if the sensation of a safe space doesnt exist, SUPPORTIVE space does. We get to cultivate that supportive space for ourselves and for one another. Spaces where we can hold eachother and say “yes its terrifying, yes it feels unsafe, but you are so strong and you have so got this. Im here with you”
We get to choose to be this for one another. I believe this to be a vital element of this revolution we are just stepping into. In tiny moments and in big ones.
Being ready is a decision we make every moment. We get to decide to be ready now, before it feels safe (because it never will).
It sounds harsh, and it is - but its also true - it actually doesnt matter how we feel. It matters that we show up in every moment with the willingness to face discomfort to gently and slowly grow into who we are meant to become. As individuals and as a collective. for the good of all.
This will not happen in one shot. it will take slow methodical blooming and closing like the birth of a flower. A constant calibration of expansion and contraction, leading us to a new fresh way of existing.
True safety only exists when we realize it happens within us, and has nothing to do with “what happens” to us and around us. But nearby is the wisdom that we must stand by one another as we cultivate this inner safety, and lift one another up because we are stronger together and its impossible to undertake alone. This kind of safety cannot be threatened by wars, famine, death. This kind of safety passes all understanding; it is radical. it is communal and individual. it is the stuff of dreams.
I would love to know what you are dreaming of. The astrology points to dreaming really big in these ways right now, so lets do it together. What does the revolution look like to you? Please leave a comment with your wildest ones!
